[Plugin: Paid Memberships Pro] Shipping with subscriptions

    Hello,

I have a client who needs a recurring billing system for his member, but he will also be shipping out his products as often as his members make payments.

If we accept payments through Paypal, for example, would there be an easy way to print labels with the Paypal label printing service?

I’ve noticed that with regular transactions there is a “ship now” button, but I have no idea if this is there with subscriptions.

Would this also be possible with Authorize.NET?

    Thanks a bunch!

    Cullen,

I am not familiar with PayPal’s (or Authorize.net’s) shipping label features. Here is some info that might help you figure this out. Please share what you learn.

Paid Memberships Pro does not collect a shipping address out of the box. You have to install code like this (https://gist.github.com/1894897) to get that functionality.

Even with that extra code, we don’t send the shipping address to PayPal so the “ship now” button may not show up or not work without it. Maybe you just have to enter the shipping address manually then (you could get it from the user profile).

In general though, if you are doing shipping you want to consider a full “e-commerce” plugin. If you have membership requirements as well, Paid Memberships Pro can be “wrapped around” another ecommerce plugin with some work.

If you think PMPro is a good start for this and want help updating the shipping sister plugin to integrate better with PayPal, let me know and get in touch at http://www.paidmembershipspro.com.
