[Plugin: Paid Memberships Pro] Questions re: WL member, free 30 trial

  • Hi,

We’re currently using WishList Member and Authorize.net for WordPress to process membership transactions.

We’d like to offer a free 30 trial with the purchase of a yearly subscription. So, customers pay nothing for 30 days, then they’re billed for a year’s membership. Will this plugin do this?

The problem we’re having with our existing setup is that the free trial period must be the same as the billing cycle, which won’t work for a yearly subscription.

Thanks in advance for any info.

    Sherri

There is a workaround with our plugin where instead of using the Authorize.net API’s free trial period to do the free trial, we setup the subscription to start billing 30 days out.

You would hook into pmpro_profile_start_date filter we have. We have some code on our membership site that shows how to make the subscription for level #1 (or any level) start 30 days out. The level would be setup as an annual plan with initial payment = $0 and no trial.

You may also want to filter the cost description text or other wise talk about your 30 day free trial.

    Sherri,

I just realized you said you were using WishListMember, not Paid Memberships Pro. I was confused because you posted with the PMPro tag.

The advice I gave was for our plugin. I can’t help you with WishList Member. You’ll have to visit their support site.
