[resolved] Possible to auto add users to subscription status? (3 posts)

    Hello,

I am using PMP and it has been great so far.

However, I have come across a bit of a hurdle. We are importing thousands of users via CSV to our site that have paid for the subscription service offline.

Can we associate a member status in WordPress, like "Subscribers", and automatically add those users to our Paid Membership Pro access?

It seems that currently the only way to add a user in the backend is viewing their profile individually and changing their status. That would be quite tedious for thousands of users.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

Not to advertise our support forums, but I wanted to post something here as a follow up.

Phreakanimal also asked this question on our member forums and the response there is at (http://www.paidmembershipspro.com/groups/members/forum/topic/how-to-mass-import-members/) This requires a PMPro membership to view.

The solution is fairly complicated and risky to run, so I won't re-post the actual code. But for others involved the basic steps are:

    1. Setup your Membership Levels

    2. Use a plugin like (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/import-users-from-csv/) or (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/user-meta/) to import users from CSV. Include a meta field column with the ID for the membership ID.

    3. Run a SQL query on your DB to INSERT a row into wp_pmpro_memberships_users for each user in the DB. You can pull the membership id from the user meta table.

Thank you for the response. I will try to figure it out based on your advice.
