I have a plugin which assigns categories to pages, so would like to know can that be used as a method of filtering? These categories will show up when a page is created or edited. This way would be more client friendly instead of trying to remember or cutting pasting meta data when the page is created. Post standardizes using categories, so I am thinking this would be consistent to use categories.

I think it would be grand to use both meta tags and categories as a way of filtering pages/post.

Sorry, but I think this feature will not be added.
I am trying to keep plugin's code lite for faster code work and better code understanding (easier readability).

Looking from the outside, it seems that page display based on WordPress categories would not bloat nor make code readability more difficult.

I'm also using page categories with the "Ninja Pages, Categories, and Tags" plugin. It would be really nice get the "pagelist_ext" list filtered by either categories or tags.

How else is it possible to filter the "pagelist_ext" list?

I do agree. That woud be definitely very nice to be able to filter subpages using categories and/or tags!
