    Hi,

I updated a bunch of plugins yesterday, then started seeing issues:
    1. My custom header disappeared. I had a photo there before. It disappeared and only the text logo plus the menu on a white background is shown.
    2. The pages weren’t shown on the front end. I saw an old thread where the suggestion was to deactivate all other plugins except for the Page Builder by Site Origin. Did that. I see the pages on the front end but the page template I used was replaced by a generic template and my layout is now messed up.

Now, I don’t know which one is causing which.
    Would appreciate the help.

    Hi Shem

    Thanks for reaching out.

    1. I’m not sure why that would be the case. Were you perhaps using a child theme and have reverted to the parent theme? That’s one possibility and would explain the settings change.

Go to Customize and check on the custom header, perhaps you’ll need to re-save it. It depends on how your theme adds the header, I’m not familiar with your theme.

    2. Is this perhaps also a theme issue? You had an assigned page template and now that page template is no longer assigned? Try editing a page, has the page template just reverted to default? Can you fix the issue by re-assigning the page template?

    Hi, Andrew

    Thanks for responding.

I was using a Beaver Builder Theme.

Working on your suggestions now. I’ll let you know how it goes.

    Hi, Andrew

You were right about the parent – child theme. I must have activated the parent instead of the child theme. That one’s resolved now.

Still working on the page template assignment. The pages all have gone to default template and won’t pick up the assigned template.

What I have noticed is that when I activated the ToolSet Layout plugin by On the Go Systems, it clashes with the Page Builder. The front end content disappears even though the pages are visible on the backend. I’ll have to find an alternative to ToolSet. Can you recommend a similar plugin to Toolset Layout?

Glad to hear you’re making some progress.

I’m, unfortunately, not sure why you’re having an issue with page templates, the theme author is probably best positioned to lend a hand in that regard if you aren’t able to find a solution.

I haven’t done any testing with Toolset Layouts. It sounds like it’s also a page builder plugin. It’s hard to make a suggestion here, it isn’t usually recommended to use two separate page builder plugins on a single site but perhaps I’m misunderstanding how these plugins are being used.

If you go to Plugins and check your plugins list, are you using any SiteOrigin plugins?

Yes, I’m using the PageBuilder by Site Origin.

I’ve deactivated the Toolset plugins now.

Will continue working on the page template. Thanks for all the help!

    I’ll mark this as resolved.

Thanks for checking. I checked a few pages looking for our source code, on those pages that I checked, it looked like Beaver Builder was being used.

Hopefully, you’re able to make progress soon, thanks for the updates!
