• The overall concept is designed by a user, which is fundamental, but the platform needs some work in playing well with other themes & plugins. The trend with themes, such as The7, is to provide a great deal of user customisation in terms of the appearance, and plugins such as Visual Composer, that recognise the power of widgets and drag and drop, which integrate well with a variety of themes as well as WordPress itself.

Lifter LMS would be wise to adapt and adopt those user’s expectations.

  • @sitewrangler,

I’m sorry that we don’t integrate as well with your theme as you’d like. I agree that we can do a much better job integrating with themes (and other plugins).

I’d ask that you have a bit of empathy for our position and imagine the nearly insurmountable mountain of themes and plugins we need to make ourselves fully compatible with. We try to be as neutral as possible and when we have conflicts we try to resolve them where possible but with many themes there’s simply nothing we can do from our end and, in those events (as you have seen) we need your help and the help of your theme or plugin developers to come around and make their custom functionality play nicely with our custom functionality. It’s a brutal world. I know it’s frustrating to our users and customers. It’s a no-win situation for many of us.

I spend a lot of time working and considering and attempting to make LifterLMS easier to work with and I’m sorry that it’s failing you in this instance.

Page builders are complicated. I spent nearly the entire day yesterday trying to make the ET Builder (packaged with Divi theme) work with LifterLMS courses. I feel like this is something we NEED to figure out (as you’ve stated) but it’s — very simply — extremely complicated…

One day I hope we’ll have this all figured out. If you *need* this functionality today you may be best off looking elsewhere as I can’t promise these features in the near future. I hope you can make due without these features as so many of our current users have and, as always, please let us know when you need assistance.

Thanks for giving us a shot and thanks for the feedback!

    Best luck and wishes,

    HI Thomas:

My apologies if my comments were upsetting. That was not my intention. As a one-man-band most of my working life I know that it’s impossible to please everyone all the time, if ever.

My intention was only to add my voice with regard to the direction that I hope LLMS will head. Everything costs time and money and we do empathise. You’ve been very patient with me and we, in turn, look forward to growing with you.

I’m often asked “How’s it going?” to which I answer, “There’s always room for improvement.” I’m not a coder but I do know that nothing is a SIMPLE flip of a switch.

Here’s to developing a working relationship,
    Miguel
