Please upgrade to version 1.0.2. We have just release version 1.0.2 which fixes the issue with MailChimp.
FYI. Version 1.0.2 uses the WordPress Media WordPress to add images and buttons to the WordPress Popup stage. There is a video tutorial which goes over adding images and button to the stage using the WordPress Media Library. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LMZqiRV-JE
