I am new to WordPress and I am building one of my first websites. I installed Site Reviews and I enabled the widget from the Widget Menu. Didn’t really understand how else to activate and display this plugin. It looks really nice and works well.

My Home page only had the header image and I deleted the Hello World post which it came with. I didn’t see the plugin until I added a new post. Is there any way to have the plugin display without posting on the page?

I am building a simple blog for a friend and all I want is to have one page with the review plugin on it.

    Thank you in advance.

EDIT: I found out I can add a widget within a post, this way I can use the widget to display as a post rather than having to leave some random post just so the widget displays. I am just wondering if there’s a better way.

If you are using your website as a blog, and the homepage in your WordPress settings is configured to display your latest posts (this is the default), then you will not be able to use the homepage page editor and your only option is to use a Site Reviews widget (WordPress Admin > Appearance > Widgets) on your homepage.

The widgets are more limited than the shortcodes, for example, you cannot enable the schema option, nor the pagination. A simple way around this is to use the WordPress Text widget instead, and then paste the shortcode inside that.

You may also want to consider using a static page as your homepage, this way you will be able to use the page editor: https://www.wpbeginner.com/glossary/static-front-page/
