    Hi joehark,

    This can be done but some preparation in required.

    The following is the bible on the process:

    When using our backups to recover from on the other domain, you can simply perform the site_url change in the Database.sql backup file instead of in the database after recovery. The RELOCATE method looks to be the most reliable though.

    One thing you’ll need to do for most plugins (not ours) is to go to their settings pages and click Save, if they have settings. This is because there are a lot of plugins out there that cache the URL in the database. Re-saving settings normally fixes this.
