plugin not working – twitter follow not verified – accept random username

    The plugin is not working. I use latest free version and when I try to use the “follow on X” its not working at all.

    It accepts any username without checking if it actually follows. User gets entry without a check if user is following.

    according to this list: https://rafflepress.com/docs/actions-verification-methods/
    it should automatically use twitter API to check for following BEFORE confirmation and give the entry to the user

    also no mail is sent to user to verify his email after entry.

    Hello,

    We tried accessing the page, but the giveaway is not working and keeps loading without displaying properly: https://a.supportally.com/i/bvoeWI

    Please note that RafflePress does not send an email notification to verify an entry, and there is no validation for social media actions (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest) before entries are received.

    One possible workaround is using the Uncanny Automator plugin. This plugin can perform actions such as sending an email or populating a Google spreadsheet after someone registers for a giveaway or enters a giveaway with a specific action.     so the verification happens after all of this steps?

    1. the user press on “follow” (which sometimes has no effect)
    2. then enter his twitter handle
    3. then submit

    so after the submit the rafflepress plugin does a check in the background without informing the user about the result of the action to “follow an X account” ?

    so basically you can enter nonsense, get the entry points?

    Unfortunately, we no longer offer the X-follow action verification. Due to changes in Twitter’s API pricing, we’ve been priced out and can no longer provide that feature. We’ll be updating our documentation to reflect that we no longer verify with Twitter.

    We understand that this is frustrating, but since X (formerly Twitter) is a third-party platform, we have no control over their terms of use and pricing.
