    I think I’ve configured everything correctly on both the plugin side and the DH hosting side, but I still can’t seem to get my backups to work and the logs don’t really say anything specific about errors, etc. What information do you need from me to help troubleshoot? Thanks!

    If the log just stops abruptly, then 99.99999% of the time it’s because you’re trying to backup too much stuff on too small a server (i.e. shared hosting). Change it to JUST backup SQL and see if that works.

    If not, I just need your domain to check on it for you.

    Thanks. So, yesterday I changed the plugin settings to back up DB only and ran a backup around 9 p.m. CST. Checked the status this morning, and I could see–both in the DH panel and in my WP Dashboard–a link to the backup .zip, but it’s completely empty. Domain is http://www.southernuconf.org. FWIW, log file does show something about deleting zip file and sql file.

    The zip is empty? That’s a new one! I’ll check into this today.

    Yup 🙂 … thought that was a little strange myself! Let me know what you find.

    Whew! Okay the zip is NOT empty! It has your SQL data in there nice and safe.

    So yay, that works! I went ahead and updated your PHP settings to give you more memory, since it MAY be the high number of PDFs on the site is causing the backup to stall (which is the error you’re seeing).

    Go ahead and tell it to backup the files too again. If that doesn’t help, I’ll see if I can increase timeouts.

    OK, hmmm. I see the additional backup file you must have created, but I still can’t see anything in it. In any case, I have an ad-hoc backup scheduled for today around 4 p.m. CST for both files/sql. I’ll report back. Thanks for your help.

    Unzip the file. You shoudl have a folder called ‘Home’ right?

    In that folder go home->domain->wp-content->upgrade

    That has your sql file.

    Ok, when I did the 4 p.m. backup WITH files, it seemed to fail again–no sql file either, that I can tell (so I guess it’s because there’s too many files?). Everything looks empty AFAIK. You might have to double check for me, but the overall size of all my uploads is around half a gig. Not sure if this helps … at least with files deselected before, I could get sql backup. But perhaps I need to look into a different backup solution?

    *sigh* Yeah, it’s the size. It works well up to 300Megs, and after that gets really … weird. I’m working on a better solution.

    Ok, thanks for letting me know.
