# Plugin not working correctly on nginx

 * I have this plugin on nginx with easysmtp (because I have other forms that need
   to communicate…) and the plugin does´t send confirmation emails
 * I turn on the debug mode and I got this error:
 * “13-01-2016 11:44:00 – DEBUG – 8,3 MB – mail> To: [mytestemail@hotmail.com](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-not-working-correctly-on-nginx/mytestemail@hotmail.com?output_format=md)
   
   13-01-2016 11:44:00 – DEBUG – 8,3 MB – mail> Subject: Confirm your subscription
   13-01-2016 11:44:00 – ERROR – 8,3 MB – mail> Could not instantiate mail function.”
 * If I enable the SMTP function on the plugin, I also cannot get this to work.
   
   Any hints on why this is happening?

 * Hi, with the SMTP it should work. What about the SMTP test from the SMTP panel?

 * It sends test emails but it doesn’t send regular emails…
 * “SMTP test‏: This Email is sent by PHPMailer of WordPress”
 * Any ideas why I got this error:

 * Is the SMTP set as active in the SMTP panel?
 * “Could not instantiate mail function.”
 * means the plugin is not using the SMTP but the mail function of PHP which is 
   disabled.
