 * Hi support team. I used the following instructions on this site to add a sidebar
   to my Woocommerce pages. It worked.
 * [http://docs.themeisle.com/article/56-how-to-add-sidebar-on-woocommerce-pages](http://docs.themeisle.com/article/56-how-to-add-sidebar-on-woocommerce-pages)
 * However, I’d like to only display the product categories there and not any blog-
   or portfolio-related widgets. So I went into widgets and told the subscribe widget
   and the content categories widget to hid themselves on all the Woocommerce pages.
   However, that doesn’t seem to have made them disappear. Then it was suggested
   that I give this plugin a try. It doesn’t seem to be making any of the changes
   either.
 * My shop page is at [http://reneeasimpson.com/shop](http://reneeasimpson.com/shop).
   As an example, I have the product categories widget set to hide itself on my
   portfolio. But that section is still there. Thanks for any assistance.

 * Some themes are confusing Dynamic Widgets when trying to determine which page
   it is. Most of the time by setting DW into OLD method fixes that problem.

 * What is OLD method?
 * Thanks,

 * From the FAQ:
    You can do this by clicking on the ‘Advanced >’ link at the bottom
   of the Widgets Overview page and check the box next to ‘Use OLD method’. See
   if that helps. Setting the plugin using the ‘OLD’ method comes with a downside
   unfortunately. It may leave you behind with a visible empty sidebar.

 * I’m just dealing with my blog subscription widget for testing purposes. I got
   that widget to come off the product pages in Woocommerce but not my main shop
   page. This was after I put it into ‘OLD Method.’

 * Sorry for the late reply
    OK, so OLD method seems to be doing the trick.
 * Please make sure you’re dealing with the right sidebar and widget. Many times
   it turns out someone is trying to set the rules on the wrong widget in the wrong
   sidebar.

 * It’s not working in all instances. I ended up just removing the Woocommerce product
   categories from my pages for now since I didn’t want visitors to see it across
   all my site’s pages.
 * I was able to get the plugin to hide the ‘subscription’ widget on my Woocommerce
   product pages only. I’m not sure why it’s not working correctly on other pages.
 * I just re-added the product categories widget. I set it so that my shop page –
   [http://reneeasimpson.com/shop/](http://reneeasimpson.com/shop/) – should ONLY
   be showing the product categories widget. But it shows all widgets in the sidebar.

 * Maybe there are custom queries being executed on that page? That’s always a problem.
   It might help by adding a `wp_reset_query()` just before the sidebar.
