I’m using the Sucuri Security – Auditing, Malware Scanner and Hardening plugin that over the last couple of days has made me aware of a few attempts to access the admin page of my website.

Just wanted to reach out and see if this was a issue with this plugin or something else that might be affecting my website. Its worked great and as said, its only over the last couple of days that login attempts have been made.

I even changed by the login URL yesterday but today I’ve still had failed login attempts reported.

WordPress is fully up to date and I’m using the latest version of Divi builder. If you need any more information, please let me know.

    Hello,

Thanks for using WPS Hide Login.

Are you hosted on a well securised server protected against xml-rpc attacks ?

Hi, I have installed WPS Hide login and I have changed the admin url however I cannot login with the new url but only with the classic one (wp-admin).
Do you know why ? Can you help me to change my admin url ?

    Hello @csalloumk

Are you using a security plugin which sets a login slug up in its settings ? Maybe there is a conflict between these two plugins.

Hello @seinomedia, My site did not a=have a ;htaccess file that’s why it was not working. Now we create this file and the admin login is hidden; Thank you for your answer, it was quite long for me to resolve it and to understand.

    Hello @seinomedia

Sorry for the delay. I have checked with our hosting provider and they have confirmed xml-rpc.php is heavily protected.

I’m still seeing increase in login attempts across all my sites so not sure what has happened to make this plugin become so ineffective. Used to work great but now, not sure if I need to change to another plugin provider?

    Hello @chrisbdm

Millions installs don’t meet this issue.

I don’t have enough informations to understand your problem.

Have you got public login pages or public login forms ?

    Hello @seinomedia

Sorry for my late response. The issue was that my custom login pages were still being found and numerous login attempts were being made. I wanted to ask if there might be a issue with your plugin not being effective anymore.

To avoid any risks to my sites, I removed your plugin and changed them to use Hide My WP Ghost – Security Plugin which, so far and using its ability to create custom login pages, has not made them discoverable.

Your plugin had been working great on my sites I used until last week so why it stopped working was a mystery.
