I updated all my plugins on staging except “Read more…” cause my first run on staging turned out to be not so fortunate for all the text I had done in my 350 categories.

I use Classic editor instead of new WP editor.
    WP version is 5.0.2.

As you can see in this little video, the plugin is updating. Same time you can see in other browser how text looks before and after update of the “Read more…” plugin.

    Hi Michael.

    Happy new year!

Version 3.x provides a dynamic settings area and a different shortcode use. Please read plugin’s description. You will need to massively change your shortcode (it should work just fine without it too) and save your settings in the settings page.

Are you saying I need to change shortcode on 350 categories?
Right now it works with new WP and classic editor but with an earlier version of plugin. Live site where it works: http://www.weensu.dk.

On my staging I updated it, but there it is not working.

Even if I had said that you would need to change shortcode on 350 categories, you could do it massively via a wp-cli database search-replace query, but what I m saying is clear enough: the new version of the plugin uses a shortcode that is ignoring the static text and its using a dynamic one directly from settings page, as a response to huge number of requests that needed a dynamic solution.

Found out through another comment. You could have written:

    1. Update plugin
    2. Go to settings of plugin (RMWR)
    3. Press Save

This did the job, and yes your plugin works flawless with WP 5.0.2 :-). Thank you very much.

Hello! yes, please update the plugin description, I spent some hours trying to solve this! thank you both!
