    Dear W3 Total Cache Team,

Just updated WordPress to 5.3 and now get the following error when wanting to access our page:

Warning: Declaration of W3TC\DbCache_Wpdb::prepare($query, $args) should be compatible with wpdb::prepare($query, …$args) in /home1/admintai/public_html/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/DbCache_Wpdb.php on line 8

Any idea? What to do know? Best to delete the plugin and wait for an update?

    Thanks in advance
    Andreas

    Hi There!

This happened to me aswell. These are the steps I took: I logged into my site via FTP. I renamed “advanced-cache.php” and “db.php” and the w3tc plugin folder. This allowed me to at least login via WordPress although it was very glitchy. I then renamed those files and folders back. I disabled all the caches and emptied them. I deactivated the W3 total cache plugin and deleted it. I then had to manually remove “upgrade”, “cache”, and “w3tc-config” folders from my server that it didn’t properly remove. I then installed a different cache plugin.

    Hi,

for the momment, for me, the only solutions works is to disable Database Cache on W3TC – W3 Total Cache under Performance > General Settings

Until our partners @ W3 Total Cache can provide a fix.. best way to have your site running again is to just simply disable the Database Cache Function of W3..

If you don’t have access to Wp-admin page go to File Manager of your site.. rename the w3 folder under public_html/”site_name_folder”/wp-content/plugins then once you have logon onto you admin page revert it back to original name (don’t worry it will display errors above but you’ll have access to the admin page functions and etc.) then go to w3 setting and disable the Database Cache.

Hope this helps while we wait for our amazing partners at W3 Total Cache for a proper fix.. 🙂

Hi there, I have the same error:

Warning: Declaration of W3TC\DbCache_Wpdb::prepare($query, $args) should be compatible with wpdb::prepare($query, …$args) in x:\xxx\htdocs\wp-content\plugins\w3-total-cache\DbCache_Wpdb.php on line 8

    My wordpress version is v5.3

My w3tc is the latest version 0.10.1

The only way website works is to disable the database cache function

    Hiya all,

The W3 Total Cache team are aware of the problem, and are looking into it.

In the meantime, please see the reply at https://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-not-compatible-with-new-wordpress-update-5-3/page/2/#post-12125313 with steps on how to temporarely deactivate the database cache, which is causing this issue, as the repeated replies of “me too” send out notifications to everyone in this thread.

To avoid notification overload, I’m closing this topic for now, please look for an official update from the plugin in the near future.

    Hello guys,

I installed the plugin update but I still got the error message on my website’s front end.

The error appears when I open some pages only and it varies between mobile version and desktop version.

    Hello @asen85
Can you please share some screenshots? Have you tried to disable and re-enable DB cache and save all settings and purge caches?
