I haven’t had time to do anything with STW since mid-2017. Could you be more specific on what is the issue and what you’ve tried to get the plugin working for you?
I just checked the service, and it seems to be working with very fast refreshes, despite the lack of attention over the past 18 months. I am swamped with a new venture, for the next month, but if you can detail the issue for me, and if the fix is quick; I can see about getting things back on-track. 🙂

Yes. We’ve been using the WP Portfolio plugins for several years – all was well. We have the credentials (STW Access Key ID + STW Secret Key) for Shrink The Web setup years ago. Recently – a month or so ago – all the Shrink The Web thumbnails stopped updating. Clicking refresh does nothing.
Not sure, but the thumbnails may have stopped updating around WordPress 5.

I found out what the issue was. Around WordPress 5 we also installed SSL. Enabling HTTPS resolved the matter.
Odd that after changing to SSL/HTTPS that option no longer appears – no way to dis-able it.
Oh wow… So glad you figured it out!
It does sound like there may be a bug that the SSL option disappeared. I know we wanted the option to show either way, so people could revert, as needed. But, it has been so long, and I didn’t write that code, that I cannot guarantee that it was coded that way. 😉
Anyway, kudos to you for recognizing “what changed”, as that is not always so easy to do!
