I have not run in to this error myself.
Can you give any more detail?
Can you please try installing Version 1.6.
Also, You marked 1.6 as not working instead of 1.3.
I’d appreciate you updating this as 1.6 should fix your problem.
The problem you ran into IS NOT with the plug-in.
It is VERY easy to cause with any plug-in.
It can happen very easily if you have the plugin subnested in folders.
Example:
- You have a Plugin called “SamplePlugin” and it is at version 1.3
- You download “SamplePlugin.1.3.zip”
- You extract “SamplePlugin.1.3.zip” to a folder named
SamplePlugin.1.3
- You upload
SamplePlugin.1.3
to your /wp-plugins/
directory.
You will receive the error stated above
“The plugin does not have a valid header.”
The correct folder to upload to your server is the “non-version-ed” folder.
Inside the folder SamplePlugin.1.3
you will find one called SamplePlugin
. This is the directory you should be placing inside your wp-plugins
directory.
Yup, I installed the plugin today on a different site with no issues whatsoever.
Great, I hope you like it!
Please change your evaluation to “works” so other people will try it!
