[Plugin: NextPage Buttons] Are WordPress going to remove 'Next Page' functionality?

Hey, really appreciate this little plugin, but as the creator says, you use it at your own risk since the functionality may be removed from WordPress in future versions. If you make heavy use of this- which some of my clients do, this would be a big pain.

So I think it would be really helpful if someone could clarify whether the removal of the nextpage button signifies an intent to remove this functionality altogether or if it was simply to de-clutter the editor interface?

I really think it would be a retrograde step to remove pagination functionality- why shouldn’t people be able to design ‘Pages’ with wordpress that don’t have to have their own menu links?

Hopefully someone can clarify this for us…
