[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Widget/Slideshow features I'm missing…

  • Hey there and thanks for the great plugin.
    I’m using version 1.7.4 and I was planning to use its built-in widget (either NextGEN Slideshow or NextGEN Widget) but am missing some features I would need.

    Since I’ve just started using NextGEN, if anyone knows of quick ways to get any of these features to work, it’d be lovely if you could share the knowledge!
    Thanks in advance,
    FR

    {{PS: I completely understand that some of these features may be outside of the intended scope for NextGEN or simply planned for future versions… if that’s the case just let me know what I should not expect to find ‘out of the box’ – that’ll already save me tons of time.}}

    Wishes when using “NextGEN Slideshow” widget:
    – user controls (pause/restart)
    – list of all images in the set so that the user can jump ahead/back
    – click on current image to either navigate to a certain URL, or open the image in the overlay

    Wishes when using “NextGEN Widget” widget:
    – pagination (eg: show 20 images, but only 3 at the time) with proper controls (for the user to go to the next/prev page)
    – slideshow (works with pagination: every X seconds, move to the next page in the set)
    – click on one of the thumbnails to navigate to a URL

    If you mean to open that image in a lightbox (or the full-resolution one) i’m with you – i’m not sure how such a elementary thing still is missing 🙁
