Why dont you include some SQL-Commands in your plugin, that change the settings on existing pictures? Like

    UPDATE Datenbank_name.wp_nggv_settings SET voting_type = '1'
    UPDATE Datenbank_name.wp_nggv_settings SET enable = '1',

That would make the setup easier.

Most of the questions about the plugin are people not able to copy and paste the tag into the template. Not the type of person who should ever be running raw SQL on data.

If you are comfortable editing a database directly, the table structure should make enough sense to do what you need. It's pretty basic.

What are you trying to achieve exactly, maybe I can help more with that?

    Thanks for your answer.

I am asking me why you dont add a button to the backend which says
"enable Voting on all existing images"
    and which runs the command
    UPDATE Datenbank_name.wp_nggv_settings SET enable = '1'
    in the database?
