[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Thumbnails not appearing / Writable issue

    I had version 1.9.2, and kept getting this:

    “Unable to write to directory . Is this directory writable by the server?”

    After checking out this forum, I then reverted to 1.8.4. When I uploaded the ZIP file this time, it said the Zip successfully unpacked, but 0 images had been uploaded. However, when I go to Manage Galleries, the uploaded gallery appears, BUT the thumbnails do not show. When I try to recreate the thumbnails, the thumbnail loading screen appears, goes to 100%, but nothing updates. Please help!!
