# [Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Thumbnails don’t work

 * I’ve been trying to upload pictures to my nextgen gallery for a few weeks now
   and keep getting “error 500” for the thumbnails. The picture’s all load fine,
   but they have no thumbnails. I’ve tried uploading from the gallery area of my
   wordpress and through putting them into cyberduck first. I’ve also tried various
   sizes and changing the DPI settings. Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?

 * I had this problem and solved it. I resized the uploaded pictures to Large web
   size 640 x 480 pixles and then compressed the pictures to document size (somewhere
   around 300). I used the Microsoft Office Picture Manager to accomplish this..
