• I’m about to do an album with several galeries which are displayed at the same (album)page.
So far so good, but the user has no effective and clear way back to the album. The back function of the browser may not be so good if the user switches some times between slideshow and picture list. Then he must click as many times as he switched.

So i look for an implementation of a back to album link after or before the galery. Is there an already known solution for this?

It is not possible working with entry- or page-ID and CSS as the ID is the same on album and galery view.

I am quite astonished that nobody saw the need for this so far, may be i’m wrong?

I appreciate this plugin very much and i know that Alex works on this in his spare free time. So i don’t expect by any means a built in solution. As i hacked the core code in order to display the galery title anyway i would hack it twice if i knew a/the short tag to the album …

    Thanks in advance

    Raimund

Yes you are right I need to implement that in the next version

Could you give me a better feeling whatyou need ? Didn’t get the point.

Great idea. I inserted a <a href back to the album page but it also shows there.

Thanks for the link, looks like something that could be implemented in the next version.

    Alex,
i didn’t want to confuse you … It was just a thought i had:
If i had different CSS-IDs (and/or classes) on album and gallery (view) or another kind of hook i could give instructions with CSS to hide or show an element like the back-button.

But as i wanted to show the album in a post, not a page (and the galleries on subpages), there is no way to get a CSS-hook; at least i couldn’t think of one.

At the end i decided to put each gallery into an own post because i could not accept the lack of orientation. May be the hack of tommiehansen is a solution but for this time i made it the other way anyhow.

Please Alex, add this “back to”-link as soon as possible. Thanks for a great plugin!
