[Plugin: NextGen Gallery] stop one image flashing before slideshow?

I am using the NextGen Gallery plugin to display slideshows on individual pages. Whenever I go to a new page, the slideshow flashes one picture, pauses like it’s loading, and then re-flashes the same picture as the beginning of the slideshow. I just want it to start the slideshow when you load the page, not flash the first picture 2x with a pause in between. Any help to fix this glitch would be SO greatly appreciated!!!
