Support » Plugins and Hacks » [Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Obtaining images list for custom front end

  • Hi all

    I’m playing with NextGen gallery. I would like to build my own custom gallery front end using a jQuery carousel, so really, all I need from NextGen is a bunch of image paths. I’m thinking of doing my own plugin and querying the database tables directly as I can’t find and ngg functions which do this. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

    Many thanks in advance
    Kevin

  • You maybe can use the json library which is now added to v1.5 as draft (see json.php) I use it for a custom jquery plugin

    Can you give an example of how to use json.php? I have tried several different ways to get this working but I’m struggling.

    I have this in my config:
    define(‘NGG_JSON_ENABLED’, true);

    I would like to be able to query the gallery using jQuery with a load perhaps, but I can’t quite seem to get that to work…either way I get header already included errors.

    If I include the json.php file in my templates, I will get the cannot modify header error as well.

    Perhaps a basic way to use the json.php script?
