    This may be unrelated, but when I looked at your site it appears you are missing the shadowbox js and css files.

    My issue is resolved, and I’m posting it here in case it will help someone else.

    I had two working galleries, and then neither of them worked, though I had made no changes to the site. Instead of displaying the galleries, what I saw was the spinning lines, as if it were trying to load but couldn’t.

    One gallery was little, just 3 images. Turns out that one of the three images “vanished.” I re-uploaded the image to the folder via FTP. Then in the NextGen Manage Gallery section, I deleted the missing image, told NG to “Scan folder for new images,” and then to Save Changes.

    The exact same process worked in the other gallery as well, where 12 of 30 images had somehow disappeared. No clue how that happened… as I said, it had been fine and I’d made no changes whatsoever.
