[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] nextgen messing up shortcodes for other plugins

  • I’ve got a plugin I’ve been working on. A coworker installed nextgen gallery .98 and suddenly my shortcodes started misbehaving. I’ve disabled the nextgen plugin and luckily for this site its not needed. Thought you should know though.

What it does is starts adding html encoded quotes around all my shortcode values. Completely breaks it of course and I don’t really think I should have to look to strip them out. I think I read somewhere that WP itself used to have this similiar problem. Something to do with all shortcodes needing to be processed before the_content gets sanitized.

  • never heard about such a problem, which kind of short code do you use ?

    my shortcodes look like

    [wpsf_product id=”23″]

    or

    [wprl_search mls_number=”123456″ template=”somefile.php”]

so what ends up happening, is when nextgen is enabled, when the shortcode gets parsed into $atts their value will be “123456” instead of just 123456. disabling nextgen removes this bug. Not saying its not something I’m failing to do correctly. I was hoping you had already heard of this.

could also be a wordpress bug.

    Josh
