[NEXTGen gallery 1.9.2] Album doesn't show image from gallery (12 posts)

    Hi,

I have problem. I installed NextGen (1.9.2) on my WordPress and when I put one gallery on my page, it works. But when I put shortcode code of my album (and in album I put two galleries), I can see two galleries on page but when I click on one of them, it doesn’t show me images in gallery. Take a look: http://www.pksrbija.com/novo_pksrbija/wordpress/galerija/

    All the best,

    Boki

    I have this problem too.

I haven't got this problem before, been using this plugin for over a year now. I don't know when this problem started, just noticed it before one of our readers did contact us about it.

We are now on a multi-site wordpress install.

The album page is here http://www.filmparadiset.se/bildgalleri/
When you press the gallery, no images shows up.

I have tried everything I have thought of:
Tried to activate permlinks and press the process now button after that, didn't help.

Tried to active the plugin on the network admin, didn't help.
Tried to change settings on Gallery tab, about the sidelinks, the top option. That didn't help either.

The shortcode I'm using, and have been using before too without any problem is [album id=6 template=compact]

Ramrod - I am using 1.9.2 and latest WordPress...are you using same? Did it work before you updated wordpress or perhaps plugin?

I sent a message to Boki as he appears to have fixed the issue when I took a look at his nice website! What have you tried Ramrod?

    cheers

    Luke

I'm using the same and I don't know when it stopped working, as I said before, I didn't have this problem before and one of our readers pointed out this couple of days ago.
The first message from me also tells what I have tried.

hi Ramrod - Boki emailed me and replied with this, but it is not so much a fix as a workaround : . My problem was simple, I didn't make Page link for Album. So, you go to gallery and you set page link (let it be new page, not the same as album link) and then, go to Albums and and in edit options for Album you can find also Page link (don't use same page as for galleries)!

Ramrod! + Boki I fixed mine.

De-activate your plugin Simple Facebook Connect - it unsets $_GET['album'] ...hence breaking this...

if you dont have that plugin, deactivate all your plugins until you see which one is causing it..

I have as a work-around for my problem, deactivated the setting under the settings of NextGEN Gallery, at Gallery, the top setting
"Deactivate gallery page linking" (can be a little error in the translation, because mine NextGEN is in Swedish), if I uncheck it, it will show the pictures under the galleries, so for now I go with this.

But I want to have it checked as before and get it to work because I don't want a lot of pages made for every gallery I want to show.

So it would be nice if the author could respond and help.

Ramrod - you shd find his page and email, he probably doesnt check here!

I know the cause anyway. Plugin looks for $_POST['album'] in php. It gets unset by conflicting plugins. Do a global grep on your server wordpress install files - for 'abum' if another plugin uses it it will conflict !!!

I have searched for 'album' but only found it in the php files of NextGEN Gallery. So no other plugins seemed to use that in their php files.

In my case the solution to this problem was to update the permalinks after creating the new albums and galleries. i.e. Just visit the Permalinks page and click the Save Changes button.

This fixed two problems I had:

When you click on a gallery thumbnail within an album, the album stays displayed
When you click on the Page 2 link for a standalone gallery, page one stays displayed.

Hopefully this will help someone. It took me a while to figure out that this was the problem.
