[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] NextGen Doesn’t Work With Thesis Theme

I’ve been having a lot of trouble getting the PicLens/CoolIris to work with my Thesis theme. It has something to do with the way Thesis calls it’s footer and what the plugin needs. From the help forum for Thesis, here was my reply:

Unfortunately, that seems to be a limitation of the plugin itself: it expects wp_footer() to be there, which is fine, but it expects it in footer.php. Rest assured that Thesis has wp_footer() — it’s a standard in 99% of all themes, I’d bet — but we don’t call it in footer.php for organizational reasons.

They suggest contacting the plugin developer – any ideas?
