Whenever I set up a website for a client I create a new administrator role for myself which has all of the standard administrator capabilities and then I hide my user from the other admins to avoid accidental deletion (it’s happened before). I also strip the standard ‘administrator’ role of a number of capabilities such update_core and delete_users as a large number of my clients aren’t particularly tech savvy so best not to give them power where they might break stuff.
So, given all of the above, when I install NGG and I’m logged in on my own account with the custom admin role, I’m only seeing ‘Roles’ and ‘Reset / Uninstall’ under Gallery in my admin menu. Not only that but the standard administrator role can see all of the other sub menu items which should be there except the 2 I mentioned above.
At this point I haven’t touched the standard options for roles under NGG, so both my custom admin role and the standard admin role should be getting all the same menu items, but clearly that’s not the case.
Not only this but if I visit one of the ones I can’t see (in either role) I’m getting the You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page. error.
