Knowing that this topic has been discused allready times ago in a closed thread and also about the “Deactivate gallery page link” option I want to learn what could be the advantage of linking a gallery or an album to a specified page/post and how this really works.
In the moment I only use the “Deactivate gallery page link” Option on and all galleries are shown on the same page. This does not look nice when you have more then one album (with several galleries) on a page like here: http://med.sion.dioezese-linz.at/gallery/. And there is nothing like a back button unless the back button of the webbrowser.
I would like to have the selection of albums on one page and then show each gallery – when clicked – on an empty page. Do I need a single page for each gallery where I a second time insert the galleries shortcode? That would make much work! I thought maybe I could make one page and every gallery which is clicked is linkd to this page? but without inserting the shortcode nothing is shown.
When is it useful to link an album to a page and when rather to link a gallery to a page?
I am working with MultiUser on a four language website http://www.sion-med.org. The galleries are only on the main website but also on pages of the other languages theses galleries should be seen. Is there by this linking a album/gallery to a page/post a possibility to show a gallery from language A on a page of language B?
I would be so happy to get some good explanation, best would even be in german! 😉 I searched allready a lot but did not find a detailed explanation of this topic.
