[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Is there a size limit on photos in NextGen?

  • I have a lot of high-resolution photos that I would like to create galleries from. Is there any limit to how large the photos I upload can be (assuming my server/website can handle it)?

And follow-up to that question, even if the photos are really large I would like them to display as “normal” size when user view them in the galleries. Is it possible to have the photos uploaded (and saved) in high resolution but shown as standard size (like 1024*768)?

  • I am currently using Nextgen Gallery for my site that has 49225 Images and 1118 Galleries per the plugin summary. They are not High-Res, but I think that this qualifies as large by any standards. 🙂 I have not had any problems with the plugin and love all the features. I did have to move my site to a VPS to handle the horsepower that the plugin requires.

I use a plugin to display my photos called FooBox. It is a plugin that Nextgen Gallery owners did a write up about on their blog. I think that it add a very good look to the photos, as well as social integration.

    Hope this helps, Cheers
