Support » Fixing WordPress » [Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] huge whitespace above gallery

  • Hi there,
    Just installed and all works well except the gallery leaves about 6 inches of white space above it leaving a huge white space in my post. Can’t find any code in the page that would make that happen. Anyone run into that and/or a solution? The gallery itself shows nicely and works properly. Thanks much!

  • Mark,

    I had the same problem, which I resolved weeks ago, and which I have now forgotten how to fix on a new install. Doh!

    The problem lies within the gallery stylesheet which you have selected. You need to add a clear: both somewhere.

    I realise that this is THE most unhelpful response you could have asked for, but it may be better than nothing given that this thread is currently unresolved.

    If you can get in contact with me,I’ll send you my working css, which you can just drop in and it should work fine.

    Regards

    Jonathan

    it should the the clear:both; problem, try to remove it form the gallery stylesheet

    I have the same problem, but only if there are widgets on the sidebar (it appear on a the page but “below” all the widgets on the sidebar).

    I tried removing all the clear:both statements from the plug-in css file but nothing changes.

    Link didn’t work for me

    There are more clear:both items than you might think. 😉

    Link doesn’t work (as Alex already said). Hard to help you …

    Sorry about the bad link( and for taking so long), I must have deleted the page by accident, I’m using NextGen+NextGEN FlashViewer
    on another site and it works great, so it must be the theme.

    I had to used a diffrent solution for this site anyway so my problem was bypassed.

    Thanks
    Guy

    I had the same problem up to about 90 seconds ago.

    THE FIX

    Got to the Gallery section of the sidebar, click Style, about halfway down you hit the gallery styles, remove the ‘clear:both’ found here…hope that works for you too!

    Thank to windyjon2 for the helpful hint.

    I seem to have lost my original files, and haven’t got anything to do a file comparison with.

    I seem to remeber I removed the clear:both from line 106:
    .ngg-galleryoverview {
    margin-top: 10px;
    width: 100%;
    /*clear:both;*/
    display:block !important;
    }

    I think that’s how I solved it.

    Jon
