how to stop the jQuery link? (5 posts)

    I have just installed and activated the NextGEN Gallery and it has knocked out jQuery used elsewhere in the site.

    I am linking to the latest jQuery and everything works fine with that, does anybody know how to stop the plugin from linking to jQuery or where in the mass of files it is so I can delete it?

    Looks a great plugin, would be a shame to drop it. Any help would be greatly appreciated

    List of plugins/versions (including the NextGEN version)?

    Normally the fastest way to debug this is Firefox + Firebug extension. Go to the page, open FB and reload the page. Look in the lower right corner for "X errors" in red and click on it. It should be educational.

    Hi there,

    I don't complete understand your question, nonetheless I think that you are asking to prevent jQuery conflicts but you have to say where is the conflict if its in admin page you can deregister all jQuery from the WordPress Core (only in admin page) to let NGG take the control of it's own jQuery libraries:

    Look at this:
    Codex Deregister_script EX:
    wp_deregister_script( 'jquery' );

    Or this thread:

    wp_deregister_script( 'jquery' );
    worked for me

    Thanks very much for your input. I'm trying to stop the plugin inserting a link to jquery in the head of the document

    "<script type='text/javascript' src='http://localhost/c16/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=1.4.2'></script>"

    I am linking to "jquery/latest" and deploying nivo-slider that NGG_gallery breaks.....is this clearer? I'm only a student so apologies for any mixed messages :)
