On July 31, 2012 there was a Tips & Tricks post about NextGEN Gallery Thumbnails and how to crop images to show the best thumbnail. The link is below to see the detailed steps of this really helpful functionality.

In Step#3, it says “NextGen lets you edit each thumbnail after loading to crop the exact part of the large image which you want to show in small version.”

In Gallery>Manage Gallery>click on a Gallery>the images in the gallery display. According to the documentation in the Tips & Tricks post, under the filename information, there should be choices of: View| Meta| Edit thumb| Rotate| Publish| Delete

I don’t see these on my screen! I am using WordPress 3.4.1 and NextGen 1.9.5. What do I need to do?

    Thanks!

Here is the link to the steps for using this functionality:

  • I don’t know why I didn’t think of this – to see the thumbnail choices of View|Meta | Edit Thumb | Rotate | Publish | Delete

it’s simple: hover your mouse over the thumbnail and the thumbnail choices will display!
