[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] freeze while creating thumbnails… any news?

  • hey there,

I love the nggallery and used it for a long time, but since the wp update to 2.6.1 thumbnail-creation doesn´t work any more, upload is ok, but thumbs freeze at 0% . also, when I try to add a single picture into a post or page, only the description text is shown.

i reinstalled several times, set folders to 777, did all the stuff i found in forums…

    any news from anyone?

    cheers

    steve

  • I don’t know if it was the same issue or not. My WordPress was freezing up when I was creating thumbnails as well. A couple of the photos were 1200 x 1200 pixels and about 500K in size. When I reduced the size of the photos to 800 x 600 pixels, WordPress created the thumbnail and stopped “freezing”.
    Good Luck.

    >> look always for your memory_limit

Where would one find the memory_limit option?????
    Thanks in advance..

It’s not really an option, it’s what your provider permits.

Look at “Gallery” (overview) where you’ll see lots of server settings. The memory limits are shown there, too, e.g. “PHP Max Upload Size”.
