Support » Plugin: NextGEN Gallery - WordPress Gallery Plugin » [Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Embed NextGEN thumbnails in pages or posts?

  • Hi guys,
    I would like to embed NextGEN thumbnails in posts and pages, wrapped in text, so that when users click on them they would see the big picture in NextGEN lightbox instead of being redirected to the page with the big picture (as with wordpress add media).
    So far I have been able to embed the thumbnail with a shortcode [thumb id=1 float=left] in the post/page, but this way it is not wrapped in text (the thumbnail has its own div element).
    Maybe it could be done with css or something else, but I wonder if NextGEN can do it and I am missing this functionality.
    Thanks a lot!

  • Perhaps I have found a solution but I don’t know if it is going to backfire me.
    The shortcode [thumb id=1 float=left] inserts the nextgen thumbnail with id=1 in the post/page, floating to the left, but it does that considering the thumbnail as a gallery thumbnail (and not as a standalone thumbnail) with something like this:

    div class="ngg-galleryoverview" id="ngg-gallery--137"
         div class="ngg-gallery-thumbnail-box" id="ngg-image-1"

    .ngg-galleryoverview {
    	overflow: hidden;
    	margin-top: 10px;
    	width: 100%;
    	display:block !important;
    .ngg-gallery-thumbnail-box {
    	float: left;

    and, as I wrote in my previous post, the text doesn’t wrap around the thumbnail
    I changed .ngg-galleryoverview in nggallery.css to

    .ngg-galleryoverview {
    	float: left;
    	margin-right: 10px;

    and now the text of the post/page wraps around the thumbnail with a margin of 10px.
    The other galleries don’t seem to be affected by this change, the thumbnails pages have the same look that they had before, but I wonder if it can break something that I haven’t discovered/used yet.
    I will appreciate any feedback regarding this subject.
    Thanks a lot.
