  • I’m having issues creating a new gallery after updating to the latest version of NextGen Gallery.

I’m fully aware of the permissions issue with Safe Mode and such, but I’ve been able to successfully create galleries before by manually creating the folders via FTP and then inputting the name through the NextGen New Gallery admin console. Before, it would say it was successful in creating it and finding the gallery folders in the /gallery/ directory.

Now it gives me this error:

    “Unable to create directory wp-content/gallery/wedding_1!
Directory wp-content/gallery/wedding_1 is not writeable !
Unable to create directory wp-content/gallery/wedding_1/thumbs !

The server setting Safe-Mode is on !
If you have problems, please create directory wp-content/gallery/wedding_1 and the thumbnails directory wp-content/gallery/wedding_1/thumbs with permission 777 manually !”

When I create the folders via FTP and retry, it adds the numbers at the end of the folders, skipping the folders that are already created.

All the folders I’ve created have the permissions set to 777 when editing.

Does anyone know how to work around or fix this problem?
