• Hi there Alex, I have hit a strange problem trying to upload images in 2 different wp 2.51 installations. Each time I try to load an images, I get the login screen flash up and then back to nextgen with a message saying “Directory contains no pictues).

This happens using both the flash upload and the non-flash upload. I cannot see any other posts on the forum about it so I think it must be something on my server but I thought I would mention it, just in case I am not the only one.

    Cheers

    Clive

  • Hi Clive,

I know that some server didn’t work with the flash upload, but the normal upload shoud work. If the login screen comes up your cookie seems to be not accepted, are you using latest version ?

Hi Alex, I think so. Flash upload works perfectly on all of my installs except these two, I now wonder if there’s a plugin causing a conflict? I am doing another test install and will double-check

    Hi,

I am experiencing the same issues. I can create a new gallery, and the folder is created by ngg. However when I upload an image, I watch the progress get to 100%, then it flashes up “contains no pictures.”

All permissions and ownerships are correct. I have SSH in to the box and verified group and owner permissions, as well as chmod all files to their relevant permissions.

    Regards,

    .Joel

Drop me a mail if I should have a look for it at your server, I’m interesting what is the problem…

I’m not sure if this is a solution, but I was having the same problem, then I decided to downgrade it (the 0.95 was working fine for me) and voila… Now it works…

    No clue why tho..

Hi There, I’ve got the same problem.

The flash uploader does not work.
It works if i disable the flash uploader. But it’s not that satisfying, because if I want to choose more than one picture, I always have to choose each picture on its own.
I can not choose 20 pictures on one click.

Is there any possibility to make flash uploader working on my server?

    here are my settings:

Is this a problem being worked on? Not to be rude, I just need to know so I can look into using something other than NexGEN if it’s not.

First reduce the resolution of your images for a test , if this still not work drop me a mail

I tried small images and they worked fine, so I tried the original images and they worked this time.

Perhaps it’s something (inexplicably) to do with fresh installations?

I’m glad it’s working, but it’s puzzling as to why it’s working now and not before.

Thanks for the help Alex. 🙂

how are you guys caning your upload limit? i put a new php.ini in my root blog directory with an upload limit of 8mb, but it still says 2mb in the stats page of the gallery.

is there a particular place i need to put the php.ini?

I’m not sure if it’s the caused by the same problem, but I suddenly had all my jpgs stop uploading. I discoverd that i had IPICT data in the new pics and there was a bug in the thumbnails creation php file, that created a divide by zero error. This caused uploads to fail. The fix for that was listed in this post http://wordpress.org/support/topic/180855?replies=16, and i searched for one other instance of the same array access and fixed it there. After these fixes, my single upload started working again. (flash uploads still don’t work.)

I’m facing the same problem. I can create new Galleries, but i cant upload any pictures, not with flash, not normal, no big one and also no tiny ones (100px). When creating the Gallerie there are new folders (all with chmod 777) however when i try to upload a picture there is no new image inside the gallery folder. The script does not give out any error message, but the flash script says in the end that there is no picture in the folder 😉
Downgrading didnt help, neither did reinstal.

Does anybody have another idea? This would be really great! Thank alex and all the other great programmers for doing such a great job!

Oh i forgot. I use wp 2.62 and nextgen 0.98
