# [Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Cannot edit thumbnails anymore

 * hi, i’m using **WP 3.1.1 **and **NextGen-gallery 1.7.4.**
    Since a few days i
   cannot edit the thumbnails anymore on 1 of my websites. When i create a new gallery,
   thumbnails are made but sometimes the face is cut off in portraits. On my other
   wordpress sites it is possible to edit the thumbnails and select the area that
   must be used for the thumbnail. This isn’t possible anymore.
 * How can i fix this? I already tried to reset both wordpress and NextGen Gallery
   to an older version but that doesn’t solve the problem.

 * I have the same problem with a client site, [http://www.garyzuyusphotography.com](http://www.garyzuyusphotography.com).
   He wants to have the faces show in the thumbnails, but when I go to Manage Gallery
   and edit the thumbnail, the photo reverts back to the default after I click the
   UPDATE button.
 * I’ve tried searching the forum for this answer and have not come across a fix.
   Also tried deactivating some plug-ins I thought might be interfering, but to 
   no avail. Somewhere I read about Yahoo delaying updates, but he is not using 
   Yahoo.
 * Client site is using WP 3.0.1 and NextGen 1.5.5 (older versions of both)
 * Any solution to get the thumbnail images to edit and save properly would be greatly
   appreciated!!
