  • Resolved bento

I am using WordPress 2.7.1, with NextGen Gallery V1.1.0.

I urgently need a back-link to the specific album, when browsing a gallery in image-browser mode. There need to be a way to link back to the specific thumbnail page from the image-browser.

Some other threads here suggested a way to link back to the parent (custom WP-)photo page, but I dont use the image galleries on pages, but in posts. Its sort of like a photo blog.

    Maybe this helps to understand:

    I my case:
    – Hompage = text links to blog entries
    – Single page = thumbnail photo gallery
    – Single page = Image-browser
(I ticked NextGen Gallery Option: “The album will not link to a gallery subpage. The gallery is shown on the same page”)

This is a small but pretty important feature, I am wondering why it has not been implemented a long time ago.

    Any help/hacks greatly appreciated!

  • Hello? Mr Alex Rabe? Anybody here who can help?

I still have the same problem!

Also a lot of other people have the same problem with NextGen gallery: It does not provide a specific back-to-album link, when viewing enlarged images (in Image-Browser mode)!

Everything else is perfect with the NextGen plugin, but the back-to-album link is a small but very important feature.

    Thanks for any hints/help/links!

Ok, I had to hire a programmer to fix this problem for me. Anybody who is interested in the script “Back to Album link”, can purchase it from me for 25USD. I had to pay 50$ for it and would like to share the cost.

It works great, however it only gives you the back to album link (not i.e. Back to “Album Name”). Here is a sample:
