[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] – auto scan for new images

Hi,
I have seen a couple of posts on this topic, but none has been resolved.

I would like to add a cron job, which basically searched for newly added images in a specific gallery. I’m not able to find the function, which is being called by the Scan folder. Can anyone help me guiding to the right files to look into?
