[Plugin: Newsletter Sign-Up] Configure for phpList

    I just downloaded the Newsletter Sign-Up plugin – and although there’s fairly exacting instructions, I don’t see how to configure the plugin for phpList.

    There is no ACTION= parameter in the FORM element for the signup form to phpList. So that leaves me at quite a loss as to what to enter for the plugin’s configuration values to “Newsletter form action”

    Additionally, I’m not sure what “Subscribe with name” means nor how to fill that out.

    Just sign me feeling really stupid right now. Thank you for any help.

    Hi Debbers.

    Try filling in you’re site’s URL as the form action then, since no action attribute or an empty value defaults to the current page (the page the sign-up form is on).

    Also, if you have a field that asks the subscriber’s name then look for that name attribute. Tick ‘subscribe with name’ and use the name attribute of the field that holds the subscribers name in as the name identifier. (does that make any sense?)

    Hello Danny and Debbers,

    I’m on the same boat here. I have managed to put the yphplista plugin fully working with wordpress, but unfortunately it seems outdated and is not working as a widget. So I tried Newsletter Sign-Up and it’s pretty, but not working with phpList.

    In yphplisa, we need to set up three things:

    1) The root URL for phplist (http://site.com/lists)

    2) list ID

    3) subscribe page ID.

    The rest is set up with phplist interface. So I cant see these options for newsletter sign-up plugin. Is it possible to clarify how to set up a working phplist <-> newsletter signup scenario?
