[Resolved] [Plugin: Networks for WordPress] Upgrade from Multi-Site Manager?

  • Hi,

I am currently using a (mainly semantics-wise) self-adapted version of the old WPMU plugin Multi-Site Manager on WPMS.

How does this new Networks for WP relate to it’s predecessor? Is it using the same DB data and could it simple be installed as an ‘upgrade’ or will I have to do some serious DB editing for a migration here?

    Thanks 🙂

  • Ok, after testing it on a basic 3.1 test setup, it seems to at least have no problems with the networks created with Multi-Site Manager and handles them just fine…

    Looks promising!

    Hi!

As you discovered, this is pretty much a semantic change. WP decided that “Blogs” would be called “Sites,” and so “Sites” had to become “Networks.”

Fortunately, the table structure is almost identical, so there shouldn’t be any problems upgrading.

If you do run into any, feel free to let me know and I’ll be happy to take a look!

Hi David, it all went smooth. Thanks 🙂
