WordPress usernames typically allow up to 1 space between words, and trim() the outside. It seems that this plugin doesn't allow spaces. Can you change that?

Could you elaborate? I don't believe the multisite functionality of WordPress allows spaces in usernames:

The first thing wpmu_validate_usersignup does is strip spaces and throw an error if there were any.

I am having the same problem.
I am moving from single WP site to WP MU and most of my users have space in there user names.
How do you allow spaces in username so I can port the old users the the new site without having to change there usernames?
