  • Resolved elin

This was exactly the thing I was looking for to present my recent posts on the frontpage of my main blog. However, I cannot make the content and the thumbnails display.
I use the following shortcode on the page

    [nlposts title=’Recent posts:’ number=’4′ days=’14’ titleonly=false thumbnail=true]

    And here is the result:

Im not very familiar with coding, but I will be able to edit the code through my file editor if somebody could give me a clue on where the problem is and what to change! Any suggestions?

Hi elin, thanks for your comment, please check if you have set those images as thumbnails; to do that just add the image you want to be displayed using the Featured Image option.

Please let me know if this solves your problem.

The same issue happens to me, even when i set thumbnail=false…I get a broken image…the reason is that it duplicates the site directory. In @elin ‘s case, “food” is written 2x:×150.jpg, whereas the image is actually in×150.jpg

    Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks for pointing out what is not working greggo. I would love to be able to use this plugin!

I notice that this doubling of the directory happens in the titla when I post at facebook as well. The title looks like this

“Mongolia Rally Diary – From dream to reality | | TravelTravel”

while the link looks just fine “”

Could anyone explain why this doubling up happen, and what can be done to fix it? Is it my set-up which is not right?

Hi and thanks for your comments,

Are you both using a plugin to rewrite the urls in your blogs? Please check this post: Problems with thumbnails.

Thanks for the tip – but I dont use any plugins to rewrite my urls.

    Hello Elin,

Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the plugin? just in case. I can’t understand why it’s duplicating the blog’s folder, I wish I could replicate this behavior in my network but it works as expected. Which version of WordPress are you currently using?

    Hello again,

I’m rewriting this plugin, I’ll be releasing the version 3 soon, so I hope this is solved. Once it has been published I hope you could give me some feedback regarding this subject.

Good to here Jose. Any sense of when it will be released and what new features it will have? I’m considering doing some custom development on this area unless this is being released in the near future.

    Hello Greggo,

Well I’ve been working hard to get it finished, nonetheless there are still some things that need to be done, right now I’m working on the Widget.

I haven’t written the documentation yet, so here’s a raw list of the parameters included in the next version:

    • ‘title’ // Widget title
    • ‘number_posts’ // Number of posts by blog to be displayed
    • ‘time_frame’ // Time frame to look for posts in days
    • ‘title_only’ // Display the post title only
    • ‘display_type’ // Display content as a: olist (ordered), ulist (unordered), block, inline
    • ‘blog_id’ // ID(s) of the blog(s) you want to display the latest posts
    • ‘ignore_blog’ // ID(s) of the blog(s) you want to ignore
    • ‘thumbnail’ // Display thumbnails
    • ‘thumbnail_wh’ // Thumbnail Width x Height in pixels
    • ‘thumbnail_class’ // Thumbnail CSS class
    • ‘custom_post_type’ // Type of posts to display
    • ‘category’ // Category(ies) to display
    • ‘tag’ // Tag(s) to display
    • ‘paginate’ // Paginate results
    • ‘posts_per_page’ // Number of posts per page (paginate must be activated)
    • ‘excerpt_length’ // Excerpt’s length
    • ‘auto_excerpt’ // Generate excerpt from content
    • ‘full_meta’ // Display date & author
    • ‘sort_by_date’ // Display the latest posts first regardless of the blog they come from
    • ‘sorting_order’ // Sort posts from Newest to Oldest or vice versa (newer / older)
    • ‘sorting_limit’ // Limit the total number of sorted posts to display
    • ‘post_status’ // Post status (publish, new, pending, draft, auto-draft, future, private, inherit, trash)
    • ‘excerpt_trail’ // Excerpt’s trailing element: text, image
    • ‘css_style’ // Use custom CSS (ex: custom_style.css)

As you can see, some of the parameters have disappeared and some others have been added, others have been renamed to match the logic of its functionality.

I’ve also replaced all the hackery and nasty workarounds by WordPress hooks, in the hope it performs better and finally making it easier to maintain.

I’m working on it, I expect it to be finished by the next week, *no promises*, but it won’t take more than 1.5 weeks though.
