Plugin needs update, but does not show anywhere

    OK this is very agitating, to me at least. When I update plugins there is always 1 that does not show in the list to update. I read in a tread somewhere that it is a deleted plugin that still has stuff in the database that has not been removed.

    I have 6 websites and it does it on all but 2 of them. It could be due to a deleted pluging as I use, or have used the same ones on all that are affected.

    So my question is this. Is there a way to find out what is causing it, and to delete it?? perhaps a plugin that will do it? I have searched for such with no results.

    JNashHawkins Same theme on ALL websites. Just the newletter causing the loopback on one. 2 of the websites do not have all of the plugins the others have so it may be some kind of a conflict with the theme. I am going to have to contact them as I pay for it.

    I suspect it may be the theme because when I disable it and use the default, the update goes off.. However the theme is still there so it should say it needs updated which it did when WP 5.0 came out.

    That’s interesting too. What theme?

    If you want to email me a copy of the theme, I’d be very interested in knowing who’s screwing up our update system.

    My email is otto at wordpress dot org. Send me a copy. Note that Gmail doesn’t like ZIP files very much, but if you rename it to a ZAP file then it will let it through.

    OTTO The theme is Generatepress in the themes. I have the pro version https://generatepress.com/

    I looked for that string of code in the php and could not find it anywhere.

    Like I said, feel free to email me a copy of the theme. If you can confirm that it is causing the problem, I’m happy to read the code and find the cause.
