In both cases I used the automatic uploading process and I received the usual“ successful” message after everything was done. I have also uploaded and deleted several plugins that no longer work for me. That process worked as expected with no problems. * So everything related to my site (blog, dashboard, theme, plugins & etc.) are running fine, no error messages & no problems that I can see. * The problem is that I logged into my host account to check my (/public_html/mysite/ blog/wp-content/) folder as I normally do, When I got to the plugins folder & opened it, I found several problems. * Inside the plugin folder I found 3 problems: 1) Several of my plugins were not visible & I couldn’t find them in my (/public_html/mysite/blog/wp-content/plugins) or (/public_html/mysite/blog/)folder for that matter. * 2) Any new plugins I uploaded after all the upgrades don’t show up in my (/public_html/ mysite/blog/wp-content/plugins) folder or anyplace else. * 3) Finally plugins that are deleted can only be done so manually from the backend when I’m in my host server. I was able to remove all of the plugins I thought I originally deleted from the plugin menu dashboard. * As I said my site is working, I haven’t noticed any difference as of yet. I even uploaded 2 new plugins which seem to work as expected. My dashboard plugin menu works fine. * My concern is that over time I have a feeling that the plugins not showing up, uploading or deleting in my (/public_html/mysite/blog/wp-content/plugins) folder is going to cause problems. * Can someone please tell me how I can fix this? I’m wondering if the issue is actually at their end and that their file management/site view application isn’t being updated. How exactly do you access the hosting account? Sometimes I use FTP when uploading a few images or videos, but other then that everything is else is handled through the WP dashboard. * How can the file management/site view application be fixed? From there I go into the (/public_html/mysite/ blog/wp-content/) folder * the files in this folder (plugins, themes, uploads & etc.) don’t seem to be updating or matching what shows up in my WP blog dashboard (installed plugins menu, installed themes or media library). * When I uploaded a few themes and plugins today, I used the automatic install on everything and had no problem. I then activated everything and each were successful. All worked fine, no site errors. * I then went back to check my host provider account where my files are stored. Logged into the control panel, opened up all the above folders and found that all of the automatically installed (plugins and themes) do not show up in my host provider account folders. * The (/public_html/mysite/blog/wp-content/) folder with all the contents don’t seem to be matching or as you say updating my actual WP dashboard install menu. * I really want to figure out why this is happening. * Thread Starter [M D](https://wordpress.org/support/users/aprama/) * (@aprama) * [16 years, 1 month ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-mystery-plugin-folder-not-working-correctly/#post-1455626) * Problem solved, my web host were in the process of moving my account to new server and didn’t bother to update me on that issue. Thanks again for the help. I think it’s time to select a new web host, the one I have just hasn’t lived up to the hype.
