If you have the glossary filter enabled, there’s a shortcode added called ‘[alphabet]’ which will auto-generate a list of first letters. It doesn’t link to archive pages, however; it’s configured to show the glossary all on one page and just have in-page links down the page.

If you want to show a list of taxonomy terms, that’s really a core WordPress function:

Thank you for the request the these informations, but first how i can enable the glossary filter? It doesn’t work right now. What is wrong?

It needs to be enabled on your plugins page.

Hello, I am also trying to insert the alphabet shortcode to apply a ‘quick click’ to the associated terms with the letter. i.e. A B C click and the pg drops down to said letter. I have purchased the MCM guide, but am unsure of where to insert the shortcode [alphabet]. The following is what I’m using at the moment, along with the MCM-Glossary Filter.

    [my_content type=’glossary’ display=’list’ order=’title’ count=’-1′ direction=’ASC’ custom=’alphabet’]

Any and all advice is much appreciated!

    Cheers

You’d generally want to add the shortcode on the same page where you’re showing your glossary list. Usually, above the glossary list itself, but that’s ultimately your choice.
